Knoxville, TN – Johnson University partners with FanFood, the online and mobile ordering technology company for events and facilities, to offer cashless and contactless ordering at its concessions stand in a two-year contract.

FanFood will be available at all of the Johnson University Royals’ athletic events for in-seat delivery only. Fans attending the games at the newly completed Athletic and Recreation Complex will be able to browse menu options from their phones, and order concessions to be delivered right to their seats. FanFood’s mobile ordering platform creates a safer post-pandemic environment by allowing cashless transactions and keeping fans in their seats, so as to avoid congregation around concession stands and the concourse areas.
“It’s not only safer, but it also makes the most sense for their operation,” said Carson Goodale, CEO and co-founder of FanFood. “Their facility hosts many types of athletic events, so FanFood can cater to all the different fans of Royals athletics.”
This new partnership adds the Johnson University Royals to FanFood’s existing 160+ venue partners nationwide across industries including sports, live entertainment and hospitality. FanFood partners have consistently seen up to 40% increase in average order size, with every other customer placing more than one order throughout the event. With FanFood, operators are also able to accept more orders without seeing long lines, and reduce operating cost by removing the need for a cashier.
Johnson University’s ARC isn’t the only venue in Knoxville partnering with FanFood. Thompson-Boling Arena, home to the University of Tennessee’s basketball and volleyball programs, also uses FanFood for in-seat deliveries during basketball games. According to Jimmy Delaney, associate athletics director for UTK fan experience and sales, the service is working well at the arena so far.
