Wings Event Center Partners With Contactless Mobile Ordering Tech Company FanFood
Kalamazoo, MI – Wings Event Center, home to the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) ice hockey team Kalamazoo Wings, partners with FanFood, a technology company that offers contactless mobile ordering for in-venue foodservice and merchandise starting in October.
As part of the two-year contract, the 5,113-seat multi-purpose arena will be rolling out mobile ordering at its concession stands for the next season, if events are to return as planned. Fans attending the games will be able to browse menus from their phones, and order anytime before or during the game. They will be alerted when the orders are ready for contactless pickup or in-seat delivery.
Since the COVID-19 outbreak, cashless transactions and contactless pickups soon rose to popularity due to their minimization of physical interactions. Restaurants, stadiums, arenas and hospitality venues have started embracing mobile ordering solutions so they can continue serving guests safely and responsibly.
“We’ve seen the pandemic rapidly and permanently changing consumers’ behaviors and mindset, and the new fan experience is defined by both safety and convenience,” said Carson Goodale, CEO and co-founder of FanFood. “We’re really excited to have Wings Event Center as a new partner, and hopefully see sports returning soon.”
The exact launch date of FanFood will be contingent upon any changes to the Wings Event Center’s event schedule.
